Job Description

Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will prepare month end Accounts and payroll in MYOB and monthly management report in excel under the supervision of CFO, as well as taking ownership in transactional accounting functions including AP, AR and banking transactions.
This role will suit an assistant accountant/accountant with an accounting degree and 3+ years accounting experience who would like to pursue a career to be an accountant through the following activities:
• Ownership of end to end accounts payable and receivable including invoicing, GL coding and weekly payments;
• Setting up and maintaining automated student tuition fee instalment invoicing in student management system and exporting invoices to MYOB.
• Setting up and maintaining VET Student loan profiles in the system for CFO to set up automated workflow issuing VET student loan statements and notices;
• Processing fortnight payroll, staff leaves and monthly/quarterly super contributions under the supervision of CFO;
• Exporting/processing daily bank transactions including card payments and reconciliations;
• Monthly balance sheet and Profit & Loss Account – Preparing month end journals including accruals, prepayments and income recognition, data extraction/analysis and month end balance sheet reconciliations;
• Support CFO in the preparation of monthly management reports with P&L budget comparisons in excel;
• Maintaining the fixed assets register with the supervision of CFO
• Follow up student production budgets supporting substantiation for processing
• Liaising with student recruitment department to keep track of tuition fee and medical cover premium payments from students.
• Liaising with Student Officer and students for tuition fee refund on withdrawal
• Maintaining fixed assets register with the supervision of CFO;
• Supporting CFO with end of financial year requirements including company tax return and annual audit, preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documents to auditors;
• Maintaining a paperless filing system in the server to ensure systematic paper trail and timely retrieval of financial records.

The ideal candidate will have/be :
• an accounting degree and 3+ years accounting experience
• a proactive mind set who wants to make process improvement;
• experience in managing accounts payable end to end process;
• strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with staff members of all departments, teachers and students;
• outstanding organising and time management skills to work autonomously;
• attention to details with a high level of numeracy;
• good understanding of accounting concepts and GST coding ;
• proficiency in MYOB, Microsoft office with intermediate excel required;
• computer literate and a fast learner of compute system such as the student management system
• immediate start
